I'm so glad you are enjoying it. I always had a hard time staying awake myself at nap time, especially when I was on the back rub detail!

the way you narrate through your drawings is wonderful. what a great amount of detailing you put into the pictures.
have you ever done a comic book or published a picture book?

Beautiful! And real (the nasty diaper is a detail many might not have used - but I'm sure it's a big part of the day!). Those little people are so lucky to have you in their lives!

(And are you thinking of gathering your work into a book/zine?)

This one is priceless! You chose activities/incidents so special - things that those children will remember years from now. Playing "little people", the guitar, your help with the bathroom problems, and certainly the "baby in the tummy" - that one really got to me. You'll have to follow up and show us how she reacted to baby brother/sister.
It's so rewarding to work with the little ones.

Great pictures - I'm so glad to have found you again!

And those little ones are very lucky.

Do you do drawings for them to colour in?

My mother used to do that - it was wonderful to be able to a drawing of something I actually WANTED to colour in and not just something out of a book.

What a busy, exciting, wonderful environment and you have captured it all! Your work is wonderful and so inspiring! You make me want to get out my crayons and sit in the corner and draw all day long.

Working with young children is a delight ...sometimes a messy one. I used to volunteer at the early learning centre here - I was supposed to be reading, but I always ended up playing dress up. It was great fun ... especially because the children came from mostly sad family lives.

Turning 50 was a much-better event than I thought it would be (happened last Dec) There's a certain joy in reaching this supposed milestone ...

Seems like you're really enjoying the new project. I'm so glad to hear it. It really shines through in this post. Good job, all the way around. :)

Carolyn, thanks for the laughs. I don't think there's a job more exhausting or enlightening that caring for toddlers and babies.

You really should consider publishing a book. I enjoy your narratives so much!

The poopy diaper cracked me UP.

I was an early childhood teacher for a few years (before transferring to High School) and this brought back so many happy memories. You are wonderful!

A+ again! You certainly know how to make it "real" to your readers-lookers.

Hi Carolyn Crayons--I found you through Selma in the City's blog. I love this--do you have an e-zine(I think someone else asked?) If you Do have one, I'll happily subscribe. You DEFINTELY could "charge" for access!
I/we are considering adoption of a child/children(probably older kids), and your sketches are truly touching--quite captivating(just as children can be)! Thank you!

Oh Caroline, you would be so good at this and I know the kids are going to completely fall in love with you and vice versa! I love the illustrations, especially of you playing the guitar.

The summer solstice is called Litha! Thanks for the reminder, that's just around the corner isn't it? All of a sudden life is going at hyper speed but it is fun, isn't it? Well, when you get enough rest in between. :)

Oh, those children are the lucky ones. Having taught elementary school for years..kindergarten too, I know how much energy this takes. Of course, it also gives energy too.
I love all of these pictures, but am especially filled with giggles over the dubious look on your face in the bathroom. "Really now, is this what I signed up for??"
I know that you are spectacular and those wee people are going to fall in love, head over heels for you, again and again.

You have really found your niche, Caroline. The pictures and the story line are wonderful. I see a great future for you! (Please always keep it as simple and "pure" as it is now.)

Thank-you Carolyn!
When I read something you wrote recently about looking for a job, I thought "me too"....and now that I am interviewing with a Montesorri school, I come to your blog and read that you have taken a similar job! It encourages me to see the way you have illustrated the postive aspects of doing this!

This a delightful series of drawings. Reminded me of a stint I did in a special class of little ones. Such short attention spans -- I was exhausted after a few hours.
