my dog

That first image is my feeble second attempt at PhotoShop. I prefer the original sketchy kitchen-table version below. I have really missed reading and staying in touch with my BlogFriends! We have decided to live without the Internet in our home. In addition, I have started a demanding teaching job, which leaves me with little energy to draw.

And then my dog ate my crayons....so, no post this week. Hey, I'm not dead yet. Many people have written to say that they will miss me. I'm still going to post and comment, just not from my home.

Thanks for leaving comments on Crayons last week. I revel in reading your insights. I will make weekly visits to the library in order to surf, read, and leave comments. I will continue to post each weekend.

Your "no post" is a great post and I think I like the second picture best, too. Did he really eat them?

Dahlink,
I like the plain drawing better. How avant-garde to live without the Internet. Good luck with your job. Tell your dog that Cray Pas are better. They have a certain "je ne sais quoi."

Know that you will be missed, although I admire your internet-less-ness at home. I went without TV at home for 9 years & highly recommend it. Best of luck with the teaching!

I'm no wizard with photoshop but the first illustration in my opinion is great but its the second one I gravitate to, after all its all things hand done and handmade which make things special for mme.It must be tough to get used to the idea that you don't have access to the internet at home, but its amazing how we can adapt if we just put our mind to it.Now what can I give up and get used to doing without..... that's a tough question.

Once we had a dog who ate crayons--it was in the winter, we lived in Iowa and he left the most colorful deposits around our frozen yard. They were almost too pretty to clean up.
Good luck with the teaching job and the home without internet but PLEASE don't give up the weekly posts--we who are lucky enough to have stumbled on your site look forward to each and every one.

"live without the internet in our home"? Egads woman, are you some kind of hippie? Why do you hate America so much?

Oh, Caroline, you are one of my very favorite sites. I will miss your wonderful drawings and hate to be without them...but that is selfish and I commend you on doing without the computer.
I've given up just about everything in order to be able to afford to keep my car on the road, but "no computer" is not on my list.
I wish you all the best in your new teaching career...I know you will be an amazing teacher.
Many hugs.

Oh, darn! Bobbie just alerted me to your blog and now I'm in love with your whimsical drawings, just as you are getting ready to exit.

I did not have TV for the better part of 20 years but I don't think I could live without the 'net. You are brave and I admire you for your decision to pull the plug. It's very hard to stay away from this thing...

Peace to you and yours,
Pagan

Gee, I hope we get to see a post about why you decided to give up Internet in the house! I've been very much in the mood to cut back lately, but high-speed Internet would be way down the list. I'd love to hear your thinking on that.

The dog really ate your crayons? !!! Living without the internet at home, wow, that's a hard one. I don't think I could do it. Nope. I couldn't. I would feel more isolated than ever but can appreciate needing to unplug. We turned off the power in our house yesterday to do some maintenance and the house felt so much better, so quiet. I hope unplugging from the internet gives you what you are looking for my friend.

I'm glad you're not going to quit posting, I would go through withdrawal.

Did your dog REALLY eat your crayons?

Oh Caroline! I would miss you so much if you disappeared. I'm glad you'll be around, even if limited. You're the second blogger in two days who has decided to give up the internet for awhile. Sometimes, I can relate to that feeling though. Especially with the nice weather upon us. It's important to get out and enjoy life!

I'd be interested to know what would make you unplug also. I can do without T.V. and do except for the morning news which my husband wants me to watch with him. We use the internet for banking, bill paying, classes, keeping in touch...I don't want to give it up at all!

Oh yeah, dogs do eat those crayons! My grandkids forget and leave them where the dogs can get to them and then I get to clean up those colorful little bits!! Have fun with your photoshop. I will get that someday.

You quite frightened me! Thank goodness you will still be around. How I would miss you if you left.
Your students will be so fortunate to have you as their teacher. I'd love to hear about the class you are teaching.
I have a crayon eating dog too! It's hard to hide the evidence.

Hm...... Cassie doesn't eat crayons, but she does like to chew on pencils. Caroline, I hope that you ARE going to continue to post here. What will you be teaching?

I commend you for living without the internet at home. It encroaches on one's time so much, don't you think? Wishing you all the best for your new position. I'm sure you will really enjoy it.
