PS: I use the library's internet twice a week to check e-mail and read blogs. You might notice fewer comments from me, even though I continue to read you.
Thank you for your enthusiasm and kind comments and two blogger award nominations! Our interactions propel me into a higher Crayonic orbit. I would never be working so hard on my illustrations were it not for this community that we continue to build together.

Oh the joy of public pools! YOur illustrations captured it all!
oh I had forgotten--the diapers in the pool, the little kids who jumped in with popsicle all over their faces, the ones who had "warm" water around them--oh thanks for the memories! I'm going out to the clear mountain lake to swim now.
The last picture is my favorite. I love your expressions.
Ah, yes, the culture of pool chairs. People do get territorial about those chairs, don't they?
I find the municipal pool here to be too small and too crowded to actually swim in it. I guess it's more of a cool-down-and-splash-around-on-a-hot-day-and-don't-think-about-what's-in-the-water kind of place.
A funny yet serious series of drawings about your day. It takes a lot of work to make drawings like these and to have them make sense is not a job for sissies.
I came to say, thanks, for visiting my birds blog but wanted you to know that a visit to my main blog would be like walking into the sunshine.
And it would explain why this day is so special for me and Patty. We have been married for 53 years today.

"A higher crayonic orbit"!
Caroline, I love you.
Public pools - I do not love, but you certainly captured them in this series.
You brought back so many memories of days at the pool, both when my kids were little and when I was young! such great illustrations!
I've missed you~~~ my fault :o/
This post made me roar. I spent more than 12 summmers at the pool with my mermaid daughter who turned into a collegiate swimmer. Your mucus reflection is so funny. I remember other little brown mishaps would be cause for blowing the whistle - everybody OUT! Shock the pool!
Gosh, you tell the story through your drawings so well!

I long for that nosy din that was such an ever-present part of my childhood. You brought that right back with this colorful post. It seems every pool had that odd kid wearing a mask or flippers and putting things in the water that we'd rather now know.
The ultimate though is getting out of the pool soaking wet and laying on the hot concrete.
Per usual...a great post of your wonderful pictures. I can't resist asking if the last picture is of you and "someone of interest" that's new in your life ...you look like you agree on a lot.!!
You capture the vivid energy of a day at the pool so well. I always worry about 'foreign objects' in the pool so the sneezing scene really made me laugh. Thank you for your lovely illustrations and stories. I really look forward to them.
What a story! Many stories going on in the public pool. They kind of freak me out to be honest. Interesting about the culture of the pool side chairs...!!! I bet that is fascinating.
I'm laughing out loud. Great illos. You make me feel like I'm there. I just want to dive into the blue water.
The municipal pool: too noisy, too crowded! What I really really love about it though, is that it is one of the few places in our quite segregated city (though we hate to admit that) where it is truly diverse. I am so glad that the powers that be chose that site for the first pool. (And I really hope that they clean up the lakes too.)
Ah, your illustrations brought back memories of my days as a lifeguard ... remembering only too well this scene (although deck chairs weren't around much then).
Delightful to visit you as always!
i'd not go back to that pool... ever! :(
i'd rather sit on my lawn and turn the hose on myself if i needed to coo off that badly....
mostly, i'm content with a quick shower
Outstanding portrayal of your day! Your drawings are enchanting as always. Not so much the mucus. LOL ;-)
Ah, the municipal summer pool experience - thank you for sharing it, and I am so glad you are!
I've always loved floating, although preferably at a private pool, where I can truly appreciate the silence & lack of waves, splashes & mucus & get really meditative.
I haven't floated in a while now. I really must remedy that.
Oh those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer with the kids. The drawings captured it all.
Your pictures make me want to dig out the Crayons, sharpen a pencil and go for it!
Your day reminded me of the many trips I made with the kids to the local pool....you made me smile, and there is nothing in blogland like what you do.
Hugs, mary
