Have you ever faced a really difficult, hurtful conflict in your life? Me too. I'm trying to do the right thing, but as Johnny Cash sang, I walk the line.
When I find myself in times of trouble, the words of Thich Nhat Hanh often come to me. It was cathartic for me to do this drawing last night.

I am sure you will choose Peacefulness, Caroline.
I am sure you will find a way to live in the Now and find Peace.
I recently found your blog - it's so nice to find another blogger from Wisconsin. I love what you are doing here!
Good luck with whatever it is you are struggling with. I've had my share of struggles, too, and have always found that, in the end, the positive approach leaves me feeling like I've done all I could.
Best wishes to you,
Angela
Been there, done that. Choose peacefulness. Your other choice is like drinking poison and hoping the other person dies (if it's a person causing this conflict). It's not worth it. Turn this around and use it to become a stronger and better person.
Wow! I'm actually going through a conflict which has left me in serious self-protective mode. I'm beyond hatred - call it indifference. Your drawing does have me thinking...I deserve peacefulness...thank you!
P.S. I hope you don't mind that I print your picture and put it on my frig as a daily reminder.
I was given one of Thich Nhat Hanh's books as a gift many years ago. It's a book that made me rethink the way I thought about many things.
I'm sure you will walk on the right path for you :O)
oh my gosh - this one brought tears to my eyes. Sending good vibes,
mb
Hello Caroline...
I believe that deep in your heart, you know what to choose...
May you always be guided...
A frequent dilemma
Sometimes the rain comes and waters both....
I have come to believe we have a guidence system inside of us that is Never wrong. If it feels good, do it. Sometimes the challenge is knowing how we really feel ~ that takes going within. Everything is a matter of remembering who we really are.
Wishing you a speedy resolution to your conflict. It's never easy. Look after yourself!
Two famous quotes for you:
"Give Peace a chance" by John Lennon and then "Rock on" by the leathery-faced guy at the farmer's market. (That was one of my favorite drawing/color of yours...it cracked me up!)
Everything's going to be just fine.
Take care. All my best, Franny
There's a rich peacefulness in many of your paintings, so it must be in your character as well. But if some unworthy person or situation is trying to hold dominion over you, you must also stand strong--calmly and resourcefully.
I really love that picture! There's so much in it!
I love this. Unfortunately I haven't even felt like I have any water lately, but I know that the drought is temporary, at least. :)
