Little Sister

Please click on any image to see detail.

Your kind words on the last post inspired me to reach farther. I will try now to post every other Monday. That predictability will provide a helpful structure.

Finally, I cannot tell a lie. I used PhotoShop to spruce up the lake in the sunset image.

Swell sweet story. Thanks for sharing.

Sweet as always. Thanks for your nice comment, dear!
I wish I could have shared all the nice things with you and your sister.
I keep my fingers crossed for you, that things will change, but I'm sure they will. And for the better.
I wonder, what has become of the belly dancer with the flaming ring! Maybe she was Goddess Pele in disguise saying: Hi Caroline, look what I want to say: relight your fire, come on, dance, it might look dangerous, but it's pure fun!
Take care!
Hugs from LaWendula

Caroline, you are the greatest! I wish, oh I wish I had your talent and could draw like you do. It takes me a whole day to draw on a canvas, sometimes I erase everything and have to start all over again the next day.
These drawings are so much fun, so alive, so well done! Yes, Scheherazade of the crayons, you tell a good story! You would have me hanging on your "sure lines" every day. Every other Monday? OK, I'll hold my breath.

It is SUCH a treat to see "Crayons" at the top of my blogroll. Sweet, sweet sister story. I wonder what it would have been like to share a room while growing up.

You can turn a simple little event into an epic spectacle. Thanks. I have you on my blogroll and each time I see an update, my heart skip a beat and you never disappoint.

Hello Caroline...
This is again another treat... So nice of your sister to visit you... I live far from my family but for 7 years my siblings were not able to visit me... :)

I also got curious as to how the lady did her belly dancing with a flaming hula hoop!

Finally, Photoshop only spruced up, but it was you who started it from scratch... :)

Be well always...

It's so wonderful to get to know you and our family through your eyes and crayons. And there's nothing wrong with using photoshop to enhance the light of a scanned image!

How else would you really illustrate what "so bright" is all about?

Elaine Fine said...

Whoops. Now I see that "so bright" was achieved purely through the strength of a yellow crayon!

I too am always so happy when I see your name on my Reader List. This one is wonderful as always, and it is special because it is about your sister. I love the students on the porches. You are so creative and talented!

Lovely, as always. Funny how certain things just seem to snap us right back from time to time. Looks like it was a wonderful day. :)

A beautiful post. So much lovely detail! As for that belly dancer, I think I know who she is. And, if I'm right, you only have one degree of separation from her.

Oh what fun, I love the free way you do your drawings. I must try and be more free. Thanks for visiting.

Hey, I learned something new: a belly dancer with a flaming hula hoop. It never occured to my mind before and have never seen or heard about it, but after reading your post, I was like, "Wow! That's possible?" What an amazing talent that it. Glad I'm not the only reader/commenter who's amazed by it :-D

Your illustrations are so unique. The last drawing brought back memories of my sister and I in '68 too.
I thank you so much for your generous comment.
Best,
Catherine

Lucky to have a sister...

She's lucky to have YOU! Isn't it odd how a memory returns in a flash for no real apparent reason?

Lovely post.

Beautiful!
I felt like I was taking the walk with you both.

Caroline, you recreate a beautiful day with such love and care. I enjoy the subtle individual touches--in the picture of the lady belly dancer dancing with a flaming hula hoop, you look as if you're honestly concerned that she might burn her belly! (And so would I be.) You're so right about students and their porches, and also the beauty of the Capitol at night--when it becomes this huge, pearly, magical image shot with golden light.
In all of your posts your eye has found this heightened reality in people and objects, and placed them in the light.

Caroline, I created a prize with you in mind. Your work inspires me as you see. And I need your help, please. How do I make the links connect with the blogs I am giving the "moonlights" to? Help! I have tried everything, but obviously did not find the magic key. Thank you.

With the help of some bloggers I was able to resolve the link problem. Now everyone can connect from the links to the blogs I gave the "moonlights" to. Thanks!
