The next day people told me not to hold my breath, that politicians are all the same, that we are all going to hell in a handbasket. But I really felt good about the listening event that she provided. She seems like a regular person, a real person who is committed to the democratic process. She listened really well.
So on the morning of December 15th, I was happy to see the news.

The impeachment of Cheney would be the first step in the right direction.
Too bad it's off the table. Thanks, Nancy!
Found you from Dr. Monkey's place. Great blog!
Yay! A happy ending to your story. Thanks for sharing it.
Good news for a change! I'll be sending my support & crossing my fingers.
I'm afraid I'm still a skeptic. I wish we could throw out ALL the politicians and start over. I have never seen anything like we have now...in both parties...and Cheney is definitely one of the worst.
Also, have you noticed that it always seem to take a woman to turn things around?
Yay, Ginnie, love your last remark!
Thanks for those thoughtful comments. And hi to Randal Graves. I've seen you on Monkey's blog.
Ginnie, I know what you mean about priorities. I also know that the Democrats are capable of doing both. That's one of the points in their letter. Even if the impeachment never happens, at least we will have called the crimes by their names. To let them go unnamed casts a poor shadow on us. But I do respect your conviction that it's the wrong thing to do right now.
What a nice series on our experience at the listening session! I felt really good about having gone (and spoken), too.
Beth
