This is simply beautiful..the gifts they gave each other and the gifts and blessings bestowed upon you.
Thank you for all you do to help me to look out and see around me, to be grateful and to remember the blessings in my life...and to appreciate and be energized by the energy in your life....(run on here)..and the beautiful way that you express your thoughts, memories and life.
That biking honeymoon--carried out with such love, care, energy and panache--and red bandannas!--seems to have been echoed all through the years of their happy marriage. What a beautiful post.
OH, WOW! This was SO worth waiting for! As always, you just amaze me with your insightful and sensitive storytelling. Please tell me a book is in the works!!!
(and I think I've seen Gene Kelly wearing clothes like those! Really!)
How you colored the very colorful and wonderful life of your parents into those squares bursting with brilliance. You really showed us your magic with this beautiful tribute to your parents. I absolutely loved the story and drawings, it was well worth the wait.
BTW, thank you kindly for your recent comment on my blog. I know how pressed you are for time & I appreciate you popping by to wish me well. It made me smile. (FYI, I see my Dr. tomorrow for my follow up appt. & hope he'll give me the OK to return to work.)
And (going back a post, but while I'm at it) I just thought I'd mention that I am a Gene Kelley-o-phile myself. And I positively adored the image of you in the pot being "watered." Delightful.
I want to thank you for coming to my blog and for your nice comment. I know how difficult it is to get my entries from your computer, so I am doubly grateful. Everything in Patagonia was different, and we were constantly under heavy winds, blown in every direction. The winds pushing you back, and the vastness, and so many other emotions. It is a special place.
Dear me, thought I had commented and cannot find my note. I just loved reading this post and was delighted to read about your parents. We are all enriched by the sharing of such beautiful life stories and histories.
That's such a sweet post. I just came across your blog today for the first time, and I think it's a really cute one, especially with all your sketches.
Please do not reproduce these for your own profit. Contact me at carolineaksoyatgmaildotcom; I will be delighted to give you permission to post. Thanks.

You out did yourself in this post. Wow! This is amazing stuff. I like it, a lot.
I can't tell you enough how much I look forward to your posts! Thank you!
I am typing with tears in my eyes. You capture in ten drawings the sweetness and sadness of life passing, so slowly and so quickly at once.
Your story went straight to my tear ducts. Thank you.
Caroline, surely your parents are smiling down on you right now, so proud of who you have become, and so pleased with your tribute.
I love the 30 year blur.
Like Anne, I am always thrilled when I see a new post from you.

Oh! I meant to mention- I gave you a lovely award :) It was my previous post, before the yoga mat. Welcome back from your blog-rest!

What a beautiful love story and so beautifully and lovingly illustrated and told.
What a lovely post. A beautiful anniversary gift to your parents.
I'm charmed right down to the socks I would be wearing if I weren't barefooted.
This is "happily ever after" if I ever read about it.
What a blessing to have this story be part of your story for ever and ever.
Thank you.
