I must have just gotten here just after you posted your newest. Though I don't often leave a comment, I look at Crayons everyday. Not because I think there will be something new (no pressure! though it's wonderful when there is, like today) but because your drawings (and your sensibility) help me see things better. They remind me of important things. So good morning Ms. Caroline on this beautiful foggy day.
Serendipty!!! Amazing, I couldn't wait to find out what that table was saying and it was well worth the wait.
I can't tell you how magical it is to see a casual reference made about Persian poetry come to life into those amazing colors and coincidences as seen and felt through you artist's eye, and steady gifted hand.
See what I mean by that 11:11 serendipity charm, eh? ;) Not such a bad curse, afterall.
Your drawings put me in mind of an Iranian who is female and who does illustraions, you remind me of Marjane Satrapi of "Persepolis" fame. That was a neat story, thanks for telling it.
What a bounty of comments. It's really thrilling and meaningful to have these visits.
Terry, I didn't know that your were a lurker. I'm so happy!
TR: You are a great reader of graphic-style stories. You have noticed things that I worked hard to put into the drawings.
Wow Monkey, I know from reading your blog that you are an afficionado of graphic novels. That makes your comments all the more valued/scary to me. I know of Satrapi's work, in fact I studied her to figure out how she spins her tales. Thanks for the comparison.
Suzy, you always have some great comeback! You one-upped me. Yes, I have it in my Moleskine, but it's all out of order because I wrote the story in a non-linear way.
Hey Ginnie, Thanks for understanding the very ordinary-ness of my stories. I guess they are kind of like yours, in a way.
Thank you so much for this link to Rumi. Off I went to the Rumi Network and then continued following links until I discovered another Sufi poet - Tagore: "Let your life lightly dance on the edges of Time like dew on the tip of a leaf."
I love your purple sweater. Your drawings always make me smile.
Look at all that blog love and you are so worthy of it.
Meanwhile, I did not "tag" you -- I just said I would - had Nina not already done it. I don't think there is any timeline for replying to it. But hopefully you will -- you might be shy - but you are an intriguing, fascinating, worldly, talented blogger and we await in modest anticipation for those 7 Random Facts - even if they are only 7 random Crayons.
I love how you think in pictures! And I love your implied judgment that you prefer poets who help fold your laundry. That makes me want to go out and read some Hafiz.
I too, found your blog via a link from crayons. I'll be back to visit.
Please do not reproduce these for your own profit. Contact me at carolineaksoyatgmaildotcom; I will be delighted to give you permission to post. Thanks.

And the rendering of the whirling dervish Rumi and grounded Hafiz is brilliant!
Yes, I've been smiling about the Hafez and the gelato all morning.

I'm going down to the basement right now to fold laundry. Do you think Hafez will be there to help me?
I LOVE this story. Do you have it page by page in your Moleskine?
Your imaginative drawings are a delight and I love how you invite us to join you in your daily doings.

I love Hafez with the gelato! *LOL*
